2005 RESULTS:

August 7 - Charm City Racing's Warren Watson is Pennsylvania State A Stock Champion! "It wasn't easy and the rain didn't help matters" Warren said. The morning started with off and on rain showers. "There was just enough rain to make it hard to decide whether I should go with the slicks or the streets. I went back and forth then decided to gamble on the slicks" Warren continued. As it turns out, that gamble paid off. Warren turned in an impressive time that was 2 seconds ahead of the competition. Warren never looked back and as the rain stopped and the course dried, Warren stretched his lead out to finish 2.6 seconds ahead of another S2000 driver, Eric Ruth.

July 30 -
Warren takes 7th place at the SCCA Northeast Divisionals.
Up against some stiff competition from 16 other drivers who compete at the National Pro Solo series, Warren managed to hang on for a 7th place finish, 3.5 seconds behind winner Greg Obadia.

July 17 -
Warren grabs 3rd place at the Philadelphia Region's Holbert Memorial event.
Warren was just .218 thousandths of a second behind 2nd place Greg Obadia and .274 thousandths of a second behind 1st place Andrew Klucsarits. In a very competitive A Stock class, only 1/2 second seperated 1st and 5th place. Al Holbert, a Philadelphia area native and one of the world's great racecar drivers was killed in the crash of his light plane in Columbus, Ohio in September 1988.

June 26 -
Warren Watson takes 3rd place
at the Philadelphia Region's 6th event. Warren finishes 1.004 seconds behind 1st place Greg Obadia and just 0.229 seconds behind 2nd place Steve Salisbury. "Greg and Steve are great drivers. I had to really work hard just to stay close to their times" said Warren. "I was trying to snatch 2nd place from Steve, but he just had a little more than me today".

June 12 -
Warren Watson takes 7th place
at the DC Region's 3rd event of the season. It was a tough day as Warren adjusted tire pressures several times to work out an understeer situation. I was feeling a rather heavy push, the car just seemed to keep going straight, so I adjusted tire pressures to try to compensate, but just I just couldn't find the sweet spot." As Warren put it "That's racing. Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug".

May 29 -
Charm City Racing's Warren Watson grabs 2nd!
"36 thousandths of a second...what is that, about 3 feet?" Warren commented as a very close battle between him and Greg Obadia at the Philadelphia Region's 4th event at Ripkin Stadium took place. "Greg's a great driver and to finish that close to him must mean I'm doing something right" commented Warren. Look for Charm City Racing at the next event at Fed Ex Field on June 12th.

May 7 -
It feels so good to be racing again! After a 2 year layoff, Charm City Racing is back as Warren Watson finishes 3rd in the Washington DC Region's 2nd 2005 event. The warm Mid-Atlantic Spring provided a great day for racing and Warren kept the pressure on Greg Obadia and Steve Salisbury. "The Charm City Racing Honda S2000 was understeering a bit and I had to adjust tire pressures to try to compensate" said driver Warren Watson. "But hey, 3rd place, I'm not complaining. I'm just happy to be racing again" continued Warren.

2002 RESULTS:

Update August 3 - Due to an unfortunate accident with the S2000 on a rain slicked interstate, Warren Watson and Charm City Racing will not be participating in the rest of the 2002 Solo 2 season.

July 28 -  Charm City Racing, back on the podium. CCR's Warren Watson grabs 2nd place at the Philadelphia Region's 5th event of the Summer Series. Warren kept the heat on Ken Lin all day. Warren clipped a cone on his 2nd run but came back with a clean 3rd run to finish 1.4 seconds behind Lin in his BMW M3.

July 14 - Almost, almost, not quite. The Washington DC Region's 4th event was a rollercoaster ride. Charm City Racing's Warren Watson lead B Stock after the first run and held the lead after the second run, but Ching Lee and Bill Mellena came from behind to grab the top 2 spots. Vic Madrid made an impressive run and at the end, Warren Watson fell to 4th place, with only 8/10ths of a second separated 1st and 4th. As Warren put it "Oh well...next time".

June 30 - You can't win 'em all... Charm City Racing's Warren Watson finishes 4th at the Washington DC Region's 3rd event. Facing some stiff competition from Vic Madrid, Mike Cole and Bill Stockton, Warren fought to the end and finished 2.4 seconds behind winner Vic Madrid and 0.171 seconds behind 3rd place Stockton. As Warren said, "You can't expect to win every race. Vic is a great driver, he brought his A-game today and he earned that win."

June 23 - Three straight for Watson! Charm City Racing's Warren Watson makes it 3 in a row at the Philadelphia Region's 4th Summer Series event. Warren pulled out a lead of 7/10ths a second on his first run and never looked back, eventually stretching his lead to 2.1 seconds. "I feel my driving is really improving and I'm learning a lot. But it's still not easy by any means." said Warren after the race.

June 9 - It's two in a row for Charm City Racing's Warren Watson! Warren Watson does it again, winning the Philadelphia Region B Stock Solo2 event in Boeing. Warren drove hard and fast from his first run, laying down an impressive first run time. Warren continued to aggressively attack the course, uncovering the secret fast areas, producing faster and faster times. Warren's back-to-back wins give him a commanding lead in the Philadelphia Region 2002 series points championship.  The next Philadelphia Region event is June 23 and Charm City Racing will be there.

May 12 - Warren Watson takes 1st place in B Stock at the Philadelphia Region's event # 2 at the Boeing facility.  Morning rains hampered the event, but as the morning went on, the course became drier.  When the time came for the B Stock cars to run in the 2nd heat, the course was almost dry and the temps were on the rise.  Warren pulled out in front by over 1-1/2 seconds and held on to win.

April 21 - Warren Watson takes 2nd in class in the Washington DC Region's first points event of 2002.  This event was filled with weather uncertainties (off an on rain, cool temps, in and out sun) and a challenging course.  Warren made some car adjustments, studied the course well and attacked the course hard.  Congratulations to Lee Piccione on designing a such a great course.

April 14 - Charm City's Warren Watson finishes 4th in class in the S. Jersey region's second event of 2002.  Up against tough competition from Perry Aidelbaum, Brian Connors and Larry Wong, Warren held in for 4th, missing 3rd by 0.08/sec.  Charm City Racing will be at the next S. Jersey event on May 4th in Camden.

March 23 - Spring is back and its race season again.  Charm City Racing's Warren Watson finishes 2nd in B Stock in the first event of the 2002 Washington DC series.  Look for Charm City Racing as we come back to Fed Ex Field on April 21.

2001 RESULTS:

November 10 - Charm City Racing's 2001 Solo 2 season came to a close in Englishtown, NJ at the final Northern New Jersey Region SCCA's autocross of the year.  The colder weather made getting the race tires up to temperature difficult and keeping heat in them even more so.  Warren Watson finished in 4th place in A Stock at the event.  We're looking forward to 2002 as we plan to participate in Solo 2 events in five Mid-Atlantic SCCA regions - Washington DC, Susquehanna (Harrisburg), Philadelphia, Northern New Jersey and South Jersey.  As driver Warren Watson puts it "I can't wait".

November 4 -  The South Jersey Region SCCA hosted their last autocross of the 2001 season in Camden, NJ.  Charm City Racing's Warren Watson grabbed 3rd place in A Stock.  Congratulations to Perry Aidelbaum and Brian Conners, who took 1st and 2nd respectively.

November 3 -  Englishtown, NJ was the setting for the Northern New Jersey Region SCCA's autocross.  Morning rains made an already challenging course treacherous and difficult.  After the first half of our runs, the rains stopped and the course dried, however after getting used to running on a wet course, finding a good groove and the right car set up was a series of minute adjustments.  Warren Watson managed to take 3rd place in A Stock.  Look for Charm City Racing in Englishtown on November 10 and 17.

October 28 - "Its great to be racing again" says Charm City Racing's Warren Watson.  Due to scheduling conflicts and the events of September 11, we had to put racing on hold temporarily.  After more than a month and a half, we're back and Warren Watson picked up 3rd place in the Philadelphia Region SCCA's event #13.  This was the last event for the Philadelphia Region's Summer Series.  Charm City Racing has not decided if we will participate in their Winter Series, but we do know that we bill be back in Philadelphia for the 2002 season.

September 3 - Up against many talented A Stock drivers and a challenging course, Warren Watson takes home 4th place at the Washington D.C. Region SCCA's Championship Autocross event #6 in Frederick, MD.

September 2 - Warren Watson takes home a 2nd place finish at the Philadelphia Region SCCA's Holbert Memorial autocross in Camden, NJ.  Other A stockers in BMW M3, Z3, Audi TT, and Mitsubishi  3000GT VR4 were on Warren's heels, but Warren wouldn't give an inch (or a 1000th of a second) to grab 2nd place.  Al Holbert, a Philadelphia area native and one of the world's great racecar drivers was killed in the crash of his light plane in Columbus, Ohio in September 1988.

September 1 - Under difficult course conditions, Warren Watson of Charm City Racing takes 6th place at the Northern New Jersey Region SCCA autocross at Englishtown.  Noting that it was our first time at Englishtown, this wasn't a bad finish.  Englishtown is not an easy course, many competitors had difficulties getting their car's set up dialed in just right.  "We look forward to the challenges that Englishtown has to offer and are ready to do it again", notes driver Warren Watson.

August 26 - Warren Watson wins in A Stock! Up against stiff competition, Warren Watson pulls out in 1st place at the Susquehanna Region SCCA's Championship Autocross # 13 in Harrisburg, PA.  Under pressure from a couple of BMW M3s, a Porsche 944 Turbo, and other Honda S2000s, Warren manages to pull out in front and hold on to win the class.

August 25 - Warren Watson grabs 2nd place in class at the Susquehanna Region SCCA's Championship Autocross #12 in Harrisburg, PA.  Also in competition were drivers in BMW M3s, a BMW Z3, Porsche 944 Turbo and other Honda S2000s.

August 19 -Warren Watson of Charm City Racing captures 2nd place in A Stock at the Philadelphia Region SCCA event at Boeing.  (Sadly, no pictures are available).

August 11 & 12 - Charm City Racing's Warren Watson captures 3rd in A Stock at the Pennsylvania State Solo II Championship in Harrisburg (missing 2nd place by 25/1000th second - Doh!)  Thanks to the Susquehanna Region SCCA, who always put on a great show.
